Dr. Jo Bjorgaard is a nurse and healthcare strategist specializing in sustainability and the impacts of climate change on health. She collaborates with healthcare systems and organizations to reduce their environmental footprint and prepare the workforce and communities to respond to climate challenges. With over ten years of clinical experience and quality improvement expertise, Jo holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, leading projects that focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and advancing environmental sustainability.

Jo earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus on Health Innovation and Leadership, centering her work on planetary health. Her nursing background provides a unique perspective on the connections between human health and the health of the planet.

Dr. Jo Bjorgaard has provided leadership and consultation on climate and health initiatives for prominent healthcare systems. She has created content for major climate organizations and serves on the Board of Health Professionals for a Healthy Climate. Jo has delivered guest lectures and presentations on climate change, health, and sustainability at hospitals, universities, and international conferences.
